Where to find it
Open a rule. Export and Import sit in the page actions.
What it is for
| Use | Why |
|---|---|
| Dev store → live | Build and test somewhere harmless, then move it |
| Backup before an edit | There is no undo on a rule you overwrite |
| Agencies | Roll the same limit across client stores |
| Support | A rule file says more than a screenshot |
What travels, and what may not
The rule’s limits, values and settings come across. What cannot reliably travel is anything that points at store-specific data — a rule naming particular products or collections depends on those existing on the destination store under the same references.
After importing, open the rule and confirm the products and collections it names are the ones you expect before enabling it. A limit that silently lost its product list is broader than you think.
Verify it worked
- Import the rule and open it. Every limit and value is as expected.
- Any product or collection references resolve to real items on this store.
- Save with the status enabled, then test a cart that should be blocked.
